A little about our instructor Jarvus Ricardo Hester

Is the former Editor in Chief with Live Free Magazine an arts & culture publication dedicated to promoting African American arts & culture. The former Marketing Director for Assemblies of God Headquarters in Springfield, MO. Where he managed the marketing for over a million churches. Hester is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Fellow alumni Debbie Allen, and Jada Pickett-Smith. Hester has recorded with Mallaco Recording artist Christopher Brinson & the Ensemble, GMA Dove Award, Stellar Award, & Oasis Awards winner Martha Manuzi, and Clint Brown. Hester has produced television programming featuring and Grammy award-nominated artists like David Hollister, Joshua’s Troop, Beverly Spivey, Lemmie Battles, Bishop Paul Morton to mention. Hester has worked with FOX’s Masterschef featuring and telling the stories of African American chefs on their program.

As a classically trained opera singer himself, has worked with the Piedmont opera production of Pirates of Penzance playing the role of Sam, and Opera Carolina production of Romeo et Juliette in the role of Paris, Recently he played a principal tenor role in Harlem Opera Theatre’s production of Mark Fax’s “A Christmas Miracle”. Hester has been the Artistic Director & Founder of Harlem Collective a New York Nonprofit 501c3 arts organization for the past two years. His passion is to make opera more tangible to the masses, not just the 1% who can afford it.
